Our Worship

Encountering God

We believe our Sunday services to be primarily about God graciously meeting His people. As a result we experience worship filled with joy, expectation, reverence and awe because we are encountering God through His Word and Spirit. It also means our worship services are structured  in such a way as to be a dialogue with God. So, rather than being passive spectators, God's people are called to participate actively and spiritually, seeking the Holy Spirit to powerfully engage their minds, emotions and wills in each Element of the service. And, in addition to enjoying fellowship with God, we are also called to rich fellowship with each other as we bless each other with our various gifts.

Our Leadership

Wisdom in the multitude of counselors

We believe Christ is the ultimate Pastor of every church! And that Christ gives authority to Pastors, Elders, and Deacons to perform their respective tasks. These three offices (roles) form what is called the Session or Church council. So, in contrast to a 'one man show' we believe the Bible teaches that a plurality of men are called to lead the Church. Currently, we are served by one Pastor, three Elders and one Deacon.

Our Music

The best of both worlds

In an increasing fragmented world, we desire the blessing of intergenerational worship, and also the intergenerational power of singing. We strive to do this by singing both traditional and contemporary  Psalms, Hymns and songs. To foster good singing, and God honoring worship, we try to select songs that are God centred, Biblically aligned, Word saturated, clear, understandable, and are suited to a congregational context. We also use a range of instruments to accompany and assist the congregation in great singing.  We would love to see more musicians on the roster!

Our Roots

We are part of the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia

Our Church was established in 1965. However, we are part of a wider denomination called the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia (CRCA) which was established in 1951. The Christian Reformed Churches of Australia includes over fifty congregations across Australia in just about every state and territory. By being part of a larger denomination we are blessed through greater accountability, and a broader pool of resources. We keep each other accountable to our theological foundations at both our Classis (regional) meetings, and through our Synods (national meetings).  And, we work together in overseas mission and diaconal work, church planting, the sharing of Pastors, the sharing of ministry resources etc.

Doing the Lord's work

How can you contribute?

In our consumerist society our first inclination might be what we can get out of church life. However, Jesus turned this mentality on its head when He said, "For whoever wants to save His life will lose it, but whoever loses His life for me and for the gospel will save it." (Mark 8:35) So, we would humbly ask you how you can be a blessing? How can you be a blessing through your time, talents, and your treasure. If you would like to support the ministry of our church family financially, but you can't make it on Sunday, our financial details with the Heritage Bank are: BSB 638070 ACC 14375435. Please specify if you would like to support the general ministry of the Church or if there is a particular ministry that you would like to support (see our ministries page).
